Sleepwalker comes in an energy-shot like bottle and markets directly on the label some intended effects, including focus, energy, and mood elevation. The green apple flavor is supposedly a limited edition. It is a dietary supplement containing 2 fluid ounces of solution. The bottle states that the experience is like a “day dream come true.” It also states it is only for persons above the age of 18. The ingredients list has changed, now only including B Vitamins 1, 2, and 6, caffeine, L-Phenylalanine, DL-Phenylalanine, Skullcap, and Gaba.

Product Administration

I purchased 2 of these, as I do know from experience 1 can sometimes not be enough. I started with one full bottle with only a couple slices of buttered toast in my stomach. I consume one glass of water with each bottle. The second bottle was ingested about an hour into the experience. The bottle does state that a serving size is one full bottle.

Product Effects

About 10 minutes after ingesting the entire contents of the bottle, I began to feel the mood elevation, energy, and focus that the product labeling outlines. Roughly 45-60 minutes in, I begin to feel jitters, followed by a tremendously debilitating crash that puts me right to sleep. It also leaves me feeling unproductive the remainder of the day, sort of defeating the entire purpose of the product. Even after administering another dose (an entire second bottle), I feel like crashing. I even have bad dreams on this stuff.

Final Thoughts

I have reviewed a total of 4 other Red Dawn Energy products, most of which have received a 2 star Fat Sammy rating. This product received a 2 star rating as well, even though it tasted better. It still provided about the same effects as before, if not worse. These effects including the undesirable crash effect after about 45-60 minutes into the experience. The crash is so undesirable that it makes the light high that is experienced from the product not worth the trouble. I do think the green apple is an improvement, but I still shudder when I think about the skeleton-like crash I get right after the jitters (which clearly has not been addressed). I can only award this product a 2 star Fat Sammy rating, largely because it does do something at least, and tastes a little better. However, I would still advise people to try something else as I am largely left unimpressed and disappointed.

Queen Hemp had a lot of products in one head shop I recently visited. Their CBD balm was an expensive product and looked like it was a smaller manufacturing lot. I felt the container was high quality but the label felt like it was printed at home. There is not much information on the label, only stating that it is a premium hemp salve, lemongrass scented, 500 mg in quantity, and “lab tested.”

Product Administration

I had my girlfriend apply a generous portion of this CBD “Premium Hemp Salve” to my back and neck in an attempt to relieve myself of some pain. We probably applied roughly 50 to 100 mg over the course of an hour before deciding to give up.

Product Effects

Unfortunately there were no effects from Queen Hemp’s CBD Lemongrass Salve. I did not experience any pain relief, and it was not pleasant to apply or remove from my body. I was unable to experience any pain relief and feel largely led on. The clerk was adamant that it works great.

Final Thoughts

Queen Hemp makes a lot of products, but I have yet to find one that does anything productive for me. Their CBD products a bit cruder than most, meaning it is probably a smaller operation. This balm smelled okay, but ultimately did not offer me any benefits and was largely overpriced. It was very sticky, hard to clean off (unlike other balms I have tried in the past), and it degrades fairly quickly after being exposed to air. I can only award this product a 1 out of 5 star Fat Sammy rating.

OPMS stands for “Optimized Plant Mediated Solutions.” Their gold capsules are one of the more expensive extract options. Each capsule contains about 650 mg of mitragyna specisiosa leaf extract. It clearly states it is not for sale to minors. I purchased this product from a local headshop. The clerk explained it was one of the best selling kratom products they currently offer. The package has a lot of details on the back, including that the product is all natural and that the company itself is not responsible for misuse. Basically, all of your typical disclaimers.

Product Administration

The package contains 2 capsules and states that you should “contact your healthcare professional to determine if this product is right for you, and if so, how to use it safely.” In the past, OPMS would place usage directions on the package itself, however, it appears they are now taking the stance that they are unwilling to claim any particular usage instructions. I decided to drink 1 glass of water and consume both pills with a small turkey sandwich. I ended up drinking a second glass of water through the experience itself.

Product Effects

I started to notice the effects of the O.P.M.S. Kratom Extract Gold about 30 minutes after ingesting the pills. It was not nearly as strong as I thought it would be, but it was a pleasant, talkative high that lasted about an hour total. I did get a tad of the jitters about 45 minutes in, which did not last long, and was quashed by laying down for a few moments and drinking some more water. It did also provide some pain relief, however, only for the hour which it was noticeably effective.

Final Thoughts

I have reviewed and tried other OPMS Kratom products and have enjoyed them as well, however, in the grand scheme of the kratom available throughout the entire marketplace, this extract is a bit of a let down compared to some of their other products (and competitive products). Still, it receives a firm 3 out of 5 star Fat Sammy rating, albeit a bit overpriced. I can firmly recommend this, as I do know it works and I do trust the company; and there are many other extract options which are both better and worse. Ultimately, I consider OPMS Kratom Gold extract a semi-overpriced, middle-of-the-line kratom product.

To start, I will say that I have purchased MIT 45 kratom products before, and enjoyed them. This is the latest MIT 45 kratom extract known as their “New Gold standard.” It comes in 2 capsules, within a professional looking packaging. The details on the package are easy to read and it it an attractive product, aesthetically. It is important to note that these capsules contain more than merely kratom extract, but also ginger, turmeric, and white pepper. The back of the box states that the capsules are used for transporting the material only, and that it is not for sale to minors.

Product Administration

In true Fat Sammy style, I took both capsules on an empty stomach (if you buy the ticket, you ride the ride). I had 2 glasses of water, one for each pill. I went to see a movie during the kick on, which was kind of hard to do during this lockdown situation we are in (boo to corona!).

Product Effects

Within about 20 minutes, I began to feel the pills kick on. I felt energized, talkative, and overall happy. This lasted about 30 to 40 minutes, before I started to feel like “maybe I took too much.” However, the unpleasant, nauseating feelings only lasted about 15 minutes, and then I was still feeling pretty good for about an hour. I would say the effects were completely gone about 2 hours after taking it, including the negative effects.

Final Thoughts

Out of all of the kratom providers out there, MIT 45 has always been a professional company. Whether they make a product that is too strong, or too expensive, I at least always feel something. One of the downsides of this particular product is how short lived the experience and effects last. It is also a bummer that it costs so much for such a short experience. I suspect that 1 pill is not enough, whereas 2 pills is definitely too much. Regardless, just as I had rated their last kratom product, I can confidently give their Gold Standard Kratom Extract Pills a 4 star Fat Sammy rating.

K.O. CBD products are very professional, and this product came in a resealable jar. The jar itself was tamper-sealed to ensure freshness as well. The label is a bit lacking in terms of information, however, it did reveal that there is absolutely no THC in the bud. It also revealed the CBD content to be 18.3 percent. The jar claims the bud will provide stress relief and anxiety relief. It also states it is all natural and burns slow (hugely favorable if you care about smoking it in a joint or blunt form. The jar is high quality and can be reused for other things afterwards.

Product Administration

I actually smoked almost all of this bud, less for a single half gram towards the end which I chose to vape. I use a volcano vaporizer, and it worked great with this bud, just like it would for actual marijuana.

Product Effects

Unfortunately, like most CBD products I have tried, there were no actual noticeable benefits from smoking this bud. I did like the taste and the smell, however, and it was enjoyable from an aroma perspective.

Final Thoughts

Very rarely do I give any CBD product a Fat Sammy rating over 1 or 2 stars. This is a special case, even though I still did not notice any actual benefits from smoking (or vaping) this product. I did, however, enjoy the taste and the general experience. I could easily compare it to smoking a special cigar or something of the sort. I would not expect any high, relaxation, stress relief, or pain relief though. The taste and smell was very nice though, and the jar is a nice touch. The container also kept the bud extremely fresh, and the jar is reusable afterwards. If you are merely looking for something to smoke, and do not care that there are no benefits procured from this CBD bud, then this bud would be for you!

The Kind Group produces lots of CBD products and this is my fourth review of my batch of purchases form my local headshop. The ingredient list on this product box includes: MCT oil, natural mint flavoring, and hemp extract (of course). The box is decent quality, the labeling is easy to read, and the dropper bottle itself is pretty standard. I purchased the strawberry flavor. The box states the product is about 10 months old from its manufactured date of December, 2019. There are 1000 mg of oil in each bottle.

Product Administration

Each bottle contains 1 fluid ounce of oil and the directions are to shake well and squeeze 1 to 2 servings under the tongue, hold for 60 seconds, and then swallow. This is normal for sublingual product administration. They also advise to use the oil 1-2 times a day only. A serving size is labeled as 1 ml (or 40 drops). I used about 4 times the suggested serving size on an empty stomach.

Product Effects

Unfortunately, I did not experience any positive effects from this product, minus a reasonable taste. I have not had any really great experiences from any CBD products, however, if you are going to try something, it might as well be something that at least tastes reasonable. This product tastes okay, but provides no pain relief, no stress relief, and no relaxation.

Final Thoughts

Due to the great taste of this product, it does not receive a 1 star rating, but a 2 star Fat Sammy rating. Besides the taste, however, it is largely overpriced, very ineffective, and overall disappointing. I can say the company is professional, the packaging is higher quality, and the labeling is very easy to read, making it a more trustworthy CBD option. This still does not earn higher than a 2 star review, as the actual benefits appear to be zilch. I cannot recommend this Kind product.

The Kind Group has produced a lot of CBD products and I have bought 4 of them. This is my 3rd Kind Hemp review. While the product itself is a bit unimpressive, the packaging looks awesome. The presentation of the dropper itself is very professional and the labeling is very easy to read. The package states there is 150 mg of active CBD. I also found the pod itself (cartridge, cart, or “kart” as they call it), very high quality in general.

Product Administration

I vaped this pod in a normal vape pen for about 2 days. I ended up working through about half of the pod before choosing to move on and declare it a loser. The product itself comes in 150 mg, but it will only take someone about 10 minutes of puffing to realize it is a bit of a garbage sale.

Product Effects

After working my way through about half of the pod within a couple of days, I can firmly say this product has offered me no intrinsic benefits of any kind. No pain relief, no anxiety relief, and no relaxation benefits were achieved. I did, however, enjoy the flavor; Albeit, I would never spend so much for only flavor when there are flavors available without CBD for so much cheaper.

Final Thoughts

Ultimately, I am disappointed with this product mostly because of the price. In terms of having something to vape which is good in taste, it was fairly satisfactory. But the massive price tag is due to the CBD portion of this product, which absolutely did nothing for me. I would have had a better experience purchasing a non-nicotine, flavored pod from any vape shop than paying so much more for something that did nothing extra for me. The CBD “intrinsic value” is nearly non-existent it would seem. To me, it feels like it is purely about the placebo effect and I could never in good conscious recommend this product to someone. It is a waste of money and receives 2 out of 5 star Fat Sammy rating (and the only reason it does not receive a 1 star rating, is because it tasted pleasant still and the packaging provided easy-to-read, thorough information).

The Kind Hemp company (The Kind Group LLC) makes a lot of CBD products. I have purchased several which I have found through my local headshop. This is the second CBD bud I have tried from this company. The packaging, as always, is pretty stellar. The labeling states it is “organically grown, high hemp flower” meant to offer relaxation, healing, and recovery. I purchase and try CBD products like this to try and find treatments for my back and neck pain. Additionally, it would be great to find one which helps with my anxiety.

Product Administration

The back labeling of the package states the CBD bud in this Suver Haze flavor contains 0.9 percent THC and 18.7 percent CBD. The lab testing company (G3 Labs) has stamped the back of the package. Although there are no directions for consumption on the package, I smoked this in a joint (by itself with nothing more included in the roll). I smoked the entire joint within roughly an hour. While the package states it is a “proprietary blend,” it looks mostly like all the other CBD bud, with the exception it does not taste or smell as good. It smelled and felt stale, as though it had leaked air into the package or had been around for a long time. This makes sense, as its lab stamp is older in date (January of 2020) compared to the other CBD bud I tried from this company.

Product Effects

As much as I would have loved to report this joint relieved any of my anxiety or pain, I cannot report any positive effects (or any effects at all actually) from this “Surver Haze” CBD bud. This was after smoking through an entire joint’s worth of bud as well. It did leave a rather nasty, stale taste in my mouth, unlike their other option (space candy), which still only received a 2 out of 5 star Fat Sammy rating.

Final Thoughts

All-in-all, I have had rather poor experiences with CBD and barely ever notice any effects, especially positive ones. I am always hopeful upon trying a new CBD product that I might notice something favorable, however, I still have yet to be impressed. The Kind Hemp’s CBD bud brand “Surver Haze,” is no exception to this, and has left me in an unpleased state and poor smelling breath. It has thus only earned a 1 star Fat Sammy rating and cannot be recommended.

Kind Hemp makes several CBD products. I purchased many of them from a local smoke shop and was excited to try each.  I do actually smoke real marijuana, so I am familiar with the THC high. I have also reviewed a ton of other CBD products and am familiar with the purported effects of CBD (although I will admit I have never experienced any benefits myself from any CBD products).  The package for this “Space Candy” CBD bud was pretty cool, truly easy to read, and lets you see the bud through the package window. The backside of the package states that the bud is organically grown hemp meant to help one relax, heal and recover.

Product Administration

The packages contain an eight of bud (3.5 grams).  The dosage is not listed, as it is smoked like normal cannabis. The backside of the package states there is only 0.7 percent THC.  It also lists the total CBD content as 18.7 percent. This report has a QR code which links to the lab which tested the product (G3 Labs).  The product was last lab tested in April of 2020.  I purchased it in September.

Product Effects

I did not see any effects from Space Candy CBD bud in terms of pain relief, stress relief, or healing.  I did feel like I was smoking an exotic cigarette or a joint, which was cool (minus the part where you get high or have any sort of gain from the experience).

Final Thoughts

The Kind Group produces many different CBD buds with exotic names. This is 1 of 2 which I have tried and the first I am reviewing.  I enjoyed the experience in terms of having something to smoke. Space Candy bud smelled great and tasted pretty great too, which is why it is awarded a 2 star Fat Sammy rating.  In terms of effects, as usual for CBD-based bud, it was a huge letdown. I did not get any sort of relaxation, pain relief, or healing benefits.  It also was not easy to reseal the package.  If CBD bud works for you, this might be a good choice, but based off my experience, I cannot award it a better rating.

CBDfx makes a lot of products, however, I actually purchased this from a local headshop and this was the only product from this company which they stocked.  The container is a standard salve canister.  The label is a bit worn and lower quality, making it harder to read on half of the balms which were in stock.  I requested one which was legible still.  The label reads that it contains 2 ounces of full spectrum, non-GMO CBD balm. The texture of the balm was pretty similar to any other salve or balm (regardless of the actual ingredients, even non-CBD balms).

Product Administration

There are no instructions on the container, but the clerk at the store informed me the best way to use it is to apply it with your fingers or a cotton swab to the areas in pain.  I had my girlfriend apply this balm rather generously to my spine, as this is the greatest source of my personal pain. It took a couple minutes to apply, just like a lotion.  I then sat shirtless for about an hour while I played a couple of games.

Product Effects

I did feel a bit of a cooling sensation from this balm, however, I do not believe it was the CBD or truly pain relieving.  I believe what I felt was the coolness of the balm as the fan in the room blew across my back. Even after an hour, there was no real noticeable difference in my pain.  I then had to take a shower, because it felt pretty gross.

Final Thoughts

CBDfx’s Full Spectrum Balm did not treat my pain, but it did smell nice. And it also gave me a chance to get my girlfriend’s hands on me for a few moments, which felt nice.  I am a bit sketched out by the poor condition of the labels on most of the inventory for this product. It made me feel like that the products had been sitting there for a long time.  I did ask the clerk if he sold many of them, which he admitted I was the first to purchase and they had been there for a few months already.  I award this product a 2 out of 5 star Fat Sammy rating because of the scent, but nothing more.  I am not sure I will try anymore of CBDfx’s products, as I was quite disappointed with this one and cannot recommend it in good conscious.
