General Product Info

Usually I am the only person trying any of the products that I review. This time, however, a group of my friends and I were all in our local head shop together and someone suggested buying kratom shooters as a group. We landed on the South Sea Ventures product line “Super K.” I purchased one of each of the two bottles they had available (neither had much product information). One was a blue bottle called “Special Edition” that I purchased for $20.00. The other was called “Extra Strong” and cost me $40.00. Neither had any supplement facts or directions, besides “shake well” and a few generic liability disclaimers. The bottles felt a lot like five hour energy bottles and the labels wrapped the full bottle, minus the cap. There was a tamper-proof seal under each cap.

Product Administration

One of my friends (a chick who had not eaten yet that day, just like me) took the stronger, purple shooter, and I took the blue shooter. Neither of us had anything to eat that day yet, and we planned a trip to the local theme park to enjoy the effects. Both of us consumed the entire contents of our bottle, all at once.

Product Effects

Within 15 minutes, the effects of the kratom shooters began to become obvious. For the first 10 minutes following the onset of the kratom extract, we both became excited and giddy. After a few more moments, it was clear she was feeling very sick. In fact, she was having such a tough time, she couldn’t even keep her head up. She reported that she felt ill, like sleeping, that nothing would stop spinning and that she felt she would vomit. After a few more minutes, the same effects came over me: nausea, sickness, dizziness, drowsiness, and overall unpleasantness. The sick feelings lasted for about 30-40 minutes, before the experience almost immediately tapered off, leaving us both feeling disappointed.

Final Thoughts

Although the South Sea Ventures’ Super K Kratom extract line works, they are sincerely overpriced for the short-lived duration of the experience. The side effects can be rather strong and come on too quickly, many of the people in my group who tried it did not like the nausea. And most of the trial users, myself included, found that the positive effects were not worth the heavy weight of drowsiness and vertigo the shooters created. There are also no supplement facts, and no indicator of dosing. Unfortunately, doing too little means not feeling anything, while doing too much means being rendered sick. The formula needs to be tweaked a little more before it is worth even half the price the head shop charged. Still, it gets a 3 star Fat Sammy rating, as there are many products which do nothing at all and cost even more.

Choice Botanicals Kratom Review

Choice Botanicals Kratom Experience (Maeng Da)

Product: Choice Botanicals Maeng Da Kratom (100 count capsules)

Manufacturer/Vendor: Choice Botanicals

Website: https://choicekratom.com/

Cost: $44.99

Fat Sam’s Legal High Rating

General Product Info

Choice Botanicals Kratom was a new addition at my local headshop. The clerk there offered me some information about Choice, claiming it was their top selling kratom brand. He said it was due to quality, not quantity. The bottles they were selling seemed expensive to me, but they do come loaded with 100 capsules. I decided to make the plunge after hearing the sales pitch. The bottle I ended up with is their Maeng Da “Green Strain.” The label is professional and very creative, not being a standard rectangle, but actually cut to look like leaves.

There is a question on the side of the bottle that reads “What makes Choice Botanicals Kratom better than the rest?” and underneath it, it reads: “Jumbo Count, More Kratom, Vegan and Kosher.” To my understanding though, most of the capsule brands are vegan and kosher friendly, and there are better deals than 100 capsules for $44.99, so unfortunately I remained skeptical. Though the bottle does claim to be lab tested and 100 percent natural.

Product Administration

Unfortunately there is no supplement facts label on this product, and thus no usage instructions. I began with 4 pills, which I presumed to be 2 grams of non-extracted kratom. I had nothing to eat inside of 4 hours from taking the pills and I consumed the capsules with about 1 glass of water. Additionally, I took 8 more pills over the course of the next few hours.

Product Effects

I have a lot of experience with kratom and I expected this product to work fairly well due to its strain (Maeng da). The four pills did not do anything for me, but after I took 4 more, I begin to feel the normal, lightly giddy effects of the kratom about 20 minutes later. Unfortunately, it did not last very long, maybe about 30 minutes…and so I took another 2 pills. I was able to extend the feeling a tad longer, then decided to take 2 more pills, bringing my total up to 10 pills. This did allow me to continue to feel the happy, uplifting feelings, for about 30 more minutes. Although, I then began to feel the dragging effects of coming off the kratom, which I normally do not feel unless I’ve been taking a lot more.

Final Thoughts

Unfortunately, the drowsiness and desire to “withdraw from life” was pretty much 4 or 5 times as long as the positive effects. The trade off was not good and I felt like I spent too much time miserable after the very short period of feeling kind of “okay.” The price is way too expensive for nearly .50 cents a pill, for barely any positive effects. Normally I have pretty good things to say about kratom, but there are most certainly better kratom brands out there than Choice Botanicals. And while the label was pretty neat, it was a little blurry, making me think it was printed by an amateur printing company.

Cruise Control Nootropic Boost Review

NutraOne Cruise Control Nootropic Boost Experience

Product: Cruise Control Nootropic Boost “Strawberry Lemonade”

Manufacturer/Vendor: NutraOne

Website: NutraOneNutrition.com

Cost: $4.99

Fat Sam’s Legal High Rating

General Product Info

I did not get Cruise Control Nootropic Boost from the manufacturer directly, or online. I purchased it from a local novelty store. The guy behind the counter said “boosts focus and clarity and memory.” The package itself says it “enhances focus and clarity.” The flavor I ended up with was Strawberry Lemonade. I have no idea if there are other flavors available, as I was not offered any other flavors when I asked about it. The company that makes it is called NutraOne. They make a lot of supplements. Some of their other products I am trying as well, although, I will leave them out of this review as to avoid any confusion.

The idea behind Cruise Control Nootropic Boost is that it literally enhances your ability to focus and work harder. The packaging is somewhat professional, but also feels like it could have somehow been printed in someone’s shed. They are very good about putting all their details on the back of the package though, which I really like. The product formula includes: phenibut, L-theanine, bacopa monnieri, caffeine, and 5-htp. Cruise Control Nootropic Boost also contains Vitamins B6, B12, and C.

Product Administration

The supplement facts state that a user should empty the entire contents of the package into a 12 ounce cup of cold water and stir well. I took the entire packet. I had eaten a peanut butter and banana sandwich about 2 hours beforehand, but nothing else all day long. I chose to work on some of my schoolwork while I tested Cruise Control Nootropic Boost, as it seemed like an excellent activity to measure the effectiveness the product.

Product Effects

Nootropics can be difficult to actually “feel”, as they typically build up in the system overtime. However, when they are mixed with something like caffeine anhydrous (not a very great ingredient to have in a product honestly), it can sometimes feel like drinking a Red Bull or energy drink. Within 20 minutes of consuming the entire contents of the “lemonade,” I began to feel a little more awake. I thought I’d start my schoolwork, however, I legitimately could not keep my mind focused on the work. I was mentally sharper for a short while, but I would not have called it a productive period by any means.

After about 1 hour and fifteen minutes, I realized I was getting a little drowsy. The tiredness was almost something unbeatable. The drowsiness created the desire to just raise the white flag and give up on the schoolwork, which is what I did.

Final Thoughts

Cruise Control Nootropic Boost definitely did provide real effects. The effects were not what I anticipated, though. I was expecting a focus, more stimulating effect. I did experience that for a short while, as mentioned. Instead though, getting a sort of “numbed out” feeling created the opposite effect of which I felt the product was intended. The company probably just tried to mix too many of the main nootropics together. Still, I was mentally aware…just not able to really get any work done. Then there was also the mild caffeine crash afterwards. It was not terrible, but was not pleasant either. Overall, Cruise Control Nootropic Boost was not a horrible product, but it also was not the best nootropic out there.

NuWava CBD Honey Review

NuWava CBD Infused Honey Experience

Product: NuWava 200mg CBD Infused Honey (Hemp Extract)

Manufacturer/Vendor: NuWava

Website: NuWava.com

Cost: $35.00

Fat Sam’s Legal High Rating

General Product Info

NuWava was up for sale at my local headshop and I scooped up one of the 200mg jars for $35.00.  I feel the price is pretty high, but considering it’s the first CBD honey product I’ve seen, I figured I would give it a shot.  The bottle says it’s a hemp extract, and that there are 5 calories per serving. All other nutritional facts on the label are empty.

Product Administration

A serving size, per the label is (1) teaspoon. The jars are tamper proof-sealed and are high quality. It is worth noting that there was a clear separation in the honey jar, the bottom had a clear-white like substance, which I presume to be the CBD isolate or whatever it is that they have used, and the top layer appears to be honey.  Stirring the jar seemed necessary to continue.  I first mixed up the jar a little bit with a wooden stirring stick. I then applied 2 teaspoons to a single bread roll and proceeded to consume the entire roll within 5 minutes.  The honey was not very good tasting, even having a light hint of weed.  Though, ultimately, went down smoothly with no complications.  The honey was easy to work with, and sort of felt like real honey in consistency and texture.

I ate another roll with most of the rest of the jar dumped onto it within 30 minutes of the first roll.

Product Effects

After 30 minutes had passed and I had not felt anything, I decided to eat as much of it as I could manage without vomiting. I nearly got down the entire jar, all on one roll.  I thought I’d feel something from that, but am regretful to report I did not.  I did not experience any effects from any of it, not even the second roll.

Final Thoughts

The only reasons this product does not get 1 star are because: (a) it is genuine CBD, (b) might have an effect for someone else, even though it didn’t have an effect for me, (c) was well-packaged and professional in presentation.  It would be a better product if it were powerful enough to provide real effects. Honey is a great way to provide a SUBSTANTIAL mark up on CBD, but since its effects are near to none, it’s absolutely NOT worth the $35.00 price tag…not even to try. Sorry NuWava, I wanted to like this product, but the actual honey sucks!

K Shot Herbal Extract Shooter Review

K Shot Botanical Herbal Extract Review

Product: K Shot Botanical Herbal Extract

Manufacturer/Vendor: “K Shot”

Website: CBDWarehouseusa.com

Cost: $16.99

Fat Sam’s Legal High Rating

General Product Info

I obtained my “K Shot” from a local headshop. The guy said that it was a kratom shot, although there was absolutely no identifying information on the bottle, whatsoever.  Well, besides “Botanical Herbal Extract” which was repeated in three different banner locations on the bottle. The bottle itself is a nice, little, glass shooter.  There is a tamper-proof sticker on the lid, and it’s 15 ml.  I looked into it, and sure enough it’s a kratom product. The ingredients are basically just kratom, and some stuff that helps you turn kratom into a liquid extract.

Product Administration

I took K Shot on an empty stomach on a Saturday afternoon before going to the beach with some friends (it’s warm outside here =) so time to play). I didn’t do any other products, nor substances, even staying away from alcohol. I took the entire contents of the 15 ml bottle, all at once.  I washed it down with a strawberry banana lemonade, and waited.

Product Effects

About 25 minutes after consuming the entire contents of the K Shot, I began to feel a little bit of a slight talkative feeling…but it was brief.  The effects were unimpressive and ultimately lasted only a mere 2-3 minutes.  I did not notice anything else afterwards, and my appetite remained normal too (something that typically doesn’t happen with good kratom products, which can actually suppress your appetite).

Final Thoughts

Ultimately I cannot recommend K Shot, mostly for two reasons: (1) The effects were no where near worth the money and barely lasted, even on an empty stomach; and (2) The cost of the product was far too expensive. Even if it were effective, there’s no way someone would pay that much for so little.  I also dislike how shady the company is about their labeling. It’s literally impossible to tell what’s in the stuff, and the sales associates do not seem 100% sure.  It definitely has only kratom, but it’s weird they would not list the ingredients on a product that is meant to be ingested. I also cannot find any direct website for the manufacturer, which means, no one knows who makes it.  Thus, I cannot suggest K Shot.
