Hi-Octane is marketed as a legal stimulant. You get 12 pills for $29.95, and they rely on DMAA and Oxedrine as well as caffeine. The product seems to be for sale on a few different sites, but seems to come from Australia no matter which site you buy it from. The package and pill bottle feel a little low quality, and the pills look low quality as well, however, I still decided to give it a shot.

Product Administration

The product label describes taking 1 pill 45 minutes before desired effects. I did take 1 pill 45 minutes before I went out with some friends last weekend. I then re-dosed twice, the first time being an hour after the first pill…and the second re-dose being 2 hours after the first pill…for a total of 3 pills within 2 hours.

Product Effects

I did not feel anything after taking the first pill, which is why an hour later I took a second. I then felt a little bit of a stimulating effect…given I did have a slightly larger meal beforehand…I was just worried about the product being shady and wanted to be able to “layer the impact.” Regardless, the 3rd pill provided me the extra “kick” that I think they were going for. It felt kind of like I chugged a cup of coffee. I was excited, jittery and energetic for about 15 minutes…and then I began to feel kind of terrible. And we’re talking all around terrible…the kind of terrible that drinking a gallon of water doesn’t resolve. This “terrible feeling” eventually turned into a mood swing that got me so irritable I couldn’t be around anyone for the rest of the day without going off on them.

Final Thoughts

In the end, the total effects from Hi-Octane energy pills were felt for about 20-25 minutes, and it took me 3 pills to get there. The product really sketched me out from the moment it arrived, however, I try really hard never to judge a book by its cover. Still, this product could not achieve greater than a 2 star rating, purely because its effects were far from impressive. I now have 9 more of these pills sitting in a cheapo Tylenol-looking bottle with a label that I could have printed off in my garage, and I will never take them. I would not call this a true legal stimulant, but it might receive a raspberry award or something.

Pissed Off Elephant is Sapphire Botanicals premium white vein Kratom. The product itself is sold as a powder, and for religious and ceremonial use only…which is a common loophole used to sell for consumption products that get you high, legally (the “consumption” part is simply implied). The product has a smooth texture, is a fine powder and is green in color.

Product Administration

I administered 2 grams, toss and wash style (put on palm, toss in mouth one gram at a time and wash down with a half a glass of water). I took another gram a couple hours later, and again later in the day.

Product Effects

After taking the first 2 grams within a few moments of each other, I waited 20 minutes before starting to feel the typical Kratom “pep.” I felt energized and a little more social than usual, so I went out to eat with some friends. I wasn’t very hungry, which is normal for Kratom as it is a pretty strong appetite suppressant, but it was great being around other people as I was experiencing what I can only describe as a Percocet-like high. I didn’t get any nausea, but I think it’s probably because my dose was low, as the strength of Pissed Off Elephant itself, was very quite strong.

Final Thoughts

Sapphire Botanicals is a reliable vendor that has been around for a long time. Their Kratom has always been good, and they used to sell it for consumption, in capsule form…however, they have shied away from this in recent years due to the negative publicity Kratom has been receiving. Still, their Kratom is just as strong. No really bad complaints, besides the taste…this particular strain seems to be a little WORSE tasting than others. Other than that, I felt really anxious the following day, and had a minor headache.

Optimind is a really clean looking product, the bottle is clean, the website you get it from is clean, and the company seems pretty clean. The pills themselves seem clean. There is nothing shady about it when it shows up, and it looks like the picture online. They market Optimind as a cognitive enhancer, something of a smart drug. It is supposed to help you get more work done, stay more focused and have more energy. Basically, it’s a legal stimulant, and is focusing on the mind-improving effects of their formula including Huperzine A, GABA and some other stuff.

Product Administration

In total, I took 4 capsules within 3 hours. The first 2 were taken at the same time, and the 3rd capsule was taken 30 minutes in after the “initial buzz” started to wear off, and the final capsule, about 3 hours in, an attempt to “revive the experience.”

Product Effects

I felt the first two pills about 15 minutes in. Given, I had taken them on an empty stomach. It did catch me by surprise…as for how “legit” the company looked, I didn’t think it was going to work…as most of the cleaner looking products typically are bunk. I am a little disappointed in how quickly the high diminished, however, taking another pill 30 minutes in, quickly bolstered the high, and the 4th pill kept it going even longer. All in all, 4 pills lasted me about 4.5-5 hours. I was really productive in that time and felt inclined to work…I did get a lot more done than normal. Despite how good I’d consider the high, I felt pretty good afterwards, and did not incur any hangover the following day. Bear in mind, I probably drank about 4 gallons of water (exaggeration, but seriously, I drank a lot knowing it was a stimulant, which tends to dehydrate the body). There wasn’t really a euphoria…but I’d compare it to drinking a lot of red bull, but without the crappy feeling you get afterwards. Definitely kept me up and focused. No doubt about that one bit!

Final Thoughts

Optimind is a really nice product, and I can see myself using this long-term. However, it is important to continue to flush my system in between different highs, that way I can experience it all correctly. Optimind is a legit product and really does work. I wouldn’t say it’s comparable to Adderall, however, it’s definitely a stimulant you can feel, and does have a bit of a kick in higher doses (not sanctioned by the company obviously).
