General Product Info

Legal Lean Syrup comes in a 2 oz bottle, all liquid and is about the size as a 5 hour energy drink. The product is marketed as a legal version of pop culture drug codeine, cough syrups and other ‘grape drank’ type of drugs. This type of name would insinuate a relaxing sort of dissociative effect, or at minimum, an anxiety relief. One of the big ingredients that the bottle relies upon is L-Theanine, however, it is interesting to note that actual melatonin is included as well.

Product Administration

I took all 2 ounces of the Dimatapp-like tasting solution all at once on a light lunch only. It was hard to get rid of the grape syrupy taste, which lingered for over an hour.

Product Effects

I began feeling the effects about 30 minutes in. Felt really relaxed, did not care about much for a couple of hours. About 2 hours in, the anxiety began to come back and the diarrhea began taking over my life. Totally sick to my stomach from whatever laxative-related ingredients were put into the syrup.

Final Thoughts

Being very similar to its close competitor, LeanBAK, a lot of the ingredients are the same. Unfortunately this also meant the diarrhea extravaganza was also the same. I spent all day on the toilet after ingesting this product with what I can describe as only “explosive” diarrhea. In fact, it was so debilitating I would not have been able to leave the house if I wanted to. The high was slightly better, but still not good enough to warrant higher than a 3 star rating. Maybe if it were remarketed as a relaxing laxative…
