Kats Botanicals has been around a long time. They offer professional products, great labeling, easy to read supplement facts and usage instructions, and great shipping times.  They are very widespread and have done a great job in building a brand that stands behind their products.  I have tried many of their products in the past and really enjoyed them, so my expectations for this new product, the Bali 45 Kratom Extract Shot, were rather high. There are some normal disclaimers on the label. The bottle is easy to open and reseals nicely. It’s tiny enough to keep in the pocket, but the liquid inside is strong enough to make an impact.

The supplement facts suggest there are 2 servings per container, however, I understand kratom extracts of this sort can be extremely powerful, so I took even less the first time…only following up with a second “thimble sized amount” about 30 minutes into the experience.  I had eaten a small burger and small fry before taking the first dose, as I know how hard good kratom extracts can hit on an empty stomach.

Product Effects

I began feeling the euphoric, uplifting kratom experience within about 20 minutes of ingesting a thimble’s worth of this product. I went a little too far in taking a little more at that point, but still had a pretty good time for about 1.5 hours.  When it peaked, I did feel slightly nauseous, but this was my fault for having taken too much. The product itself had supremely favorable kratom effects, reminding me much of one of my lead favorites, Vivazen. I really enjoyed this product, multiple times, with the same bottle.

Final Words

Ultimately, this is one of the better liquid kratom extract shots. Kats Botanicals produces many great kratom products and I have been using them for years at this point. They ship really fast…and they are also heavily present in many smoke shops and head shops.  They sell all types of kratom products, but their extracts are definitely powerful. I suggest approaching them with caution. The only reason I did not give this product a five star rating is due to taste, and the potency is a bit too strong…to the point I almost feel it’s too much and can easily create a poor experience without proper reservation and measuring (although, that is partially our responsibility as a consumer, the truth is, it’s very hard to measure products like this). Still, there is room for improvement, but they DO solidly earn a 4 Star Fat Sammy Rating, which is hard to do!

I have tried Kats Botanicals products before, many times. Some of their powders are okay, and I have nothing really terribly bad to say about the company at this point. They maintain their site and ship fast. I find their products in headshops frequently. That said, I had never come across their gummies until a recent headshop visit of mine.  There were two flavors, but Tropical Mango sounded better. In fact, I have never tried kratom gummies at all until now.

The serving size on the back of the package states to eat just one gummy at a time. So in true, Fat Sammy style, I ate 6 over the course of an hour and a half, on mostly an empty stomach and only a single glass of water.

Within half an hour of ingesting the first three gummies, I began to feel talkative, more energetic, and a bit happier. Within an hour, I feel I had peaked…the remaining gummy or two I consumed thereafter, only kept the high going a bit longer.  I can say this is no where near as powerful as raw kratom powder, or a liquid extract shot, but it was a very good attempt to offer kratom in a way we typically do not experience it. It was probably not worth the $20 I spent on it, but it was most certainly effective to some extent.  The effects began to dwindle after the peak rather quickly, another downside.

All-in-all, Kats Botanicals is doing okay and offers some legitimate kratom products that really do work. This product was not all I had hoped for, but it was still mildly effective enough to earn a 3 Star Fat Sammy Rating, which if you know me, is kind of hard to do. I did not enjoy having to eat so many to get the effects I would consider reasonable for much less powder, however, I can see how some people would prefer the gummies over a normal powder or extract liquid. I can recommend this product, with reasonable expectations.

I picked this product up from a local headshop. It was reasonably priced, so I figured I didn’t have much to lose. The label lacks a lot of information, and what is on the label is extremely tiny and hard to read. On top of that, there is absolutely no manufacturer information or details on the label. I have no idea who made it, where to find any information about them online, or even if they are still in business.  I do know that the supplement facts panel states there are 10 ml of kratom extract equivalent to 4 grams of leaf, making this a 4:1 kratom extract.  There is a picture of a couple of limes on the front, and the letters “ck” in cursive.  Ultimately, I did not have high hopes for this extract.

The label states that 1 serving size is equivalent to 10 ml, or an entire bottle. I took the entire bottle on an empty stomach, early in the morning.

Effects / Experience

Unfortunately, I felt nothing from this kratom shot. I did not experience anything besides a very tiny jitter, for maybe 5 minutes. I can say this is hands down one of the worst kratom extracts I have ever tried.

Final Notes

In the end, I can only give this product one star. This is because it did hardly anything for me. On top of having almost no effects, it also had no manufacturer information…which is extremely shady.  The company that produces it is not even willing to put their name or details on the bottle.  While the supplement facts panel suggests there is one serving per bottle, without feeling anything, I can only imagine it is extremely weak kratom extract. I cannot in any good conscious suggest this product to anyone.  This product is bunk, weak, and unprofessional.

The package suggests that Zion Herbals has been around since 2010, although I do not recall ever seeing them before this kratom product.  Perhaps they are local only. They had two options in the store “Silver Reserve” and “Gold Reserve,” and of course, I chose “Gold Reserve.”  The package states there are 200 mg of total alkaloids, between the two pills. There is a GMP stamp, signifying they meet General Manufacturing Practice standards. While I am not sure about the company, the pills themselves look professionally packaged and I was excited to try it!

The package has many warnings, including: keep out of reach of children, for 18+ years or older, and do not operate while using motor vehicles or heavy machinery.  It also advises against using if one is pregnant, and to consult a doctor before use. All very professional, standard warnings for a product like this.  The supplement facts panel states 1 capsule is a serving size. One capsule contains 100 mg of 45% mitragynine extract powder, 45 mg of mitragynine, and 0.15 mg of 7hydrooxymitragynine.  I took both capsules after consuming a turkey sub from WaWa and a glass of milk.

Effects / Experience

The kratom effects of lightness, giddiness, talkativeness, and mood enhancement began about 30 minutes in.  I experienced the peak at about an hour, only to drop off quickly at about 1.5 hours.  I did want to sleep after I began to come down, but this is normal when taking a strong kratom extract. I am convinced my experience would not have been nearly as good if I had taken only one pill.

Final Notes

Altogether, this is a fine product. It works great, especially for the money…although a bit expensive for only 2 pills. While this product is only available in local headshops, it is most certainly worth the money. I can give it a 3 star Fat Sammy rating, which is hard to obtain as my standards are rather high. The packaging could use some work, but I will not let that deter me from giving it an honest rating, effects-wise. And while I would not try this again myself given there are better options, I would not discourage someone from trying it.

A lot of people send me suggestions of products to try and this is one of those products.  A very nice fellow emailed me after seeing King Kratom in their local headshop. He explained that he has seen it in many head shops and that he heard it was the best. He also explained he was a daily kratom user and had been with another brand, Experience Kratom, for a long time.  He told me that he was unfamiliar with the differences in the strains and whether he should switch from the Red Vein strain he was using through Experience products, to this White Vein Maeng Da strain with King Kratom.  As many kratom products as I have tried, I interestingly had not encountered King Kratom products before.  After dialing a few local smoke shops, I did find one which stocked King Kratom and I drove over there to pick some up.

The package itself is normal quality for a plastic jar. It is see-through and showcases 100 capsules of White Vein Maeng Da Kratom.  The labeling is largely unimpressive, but offers some information including “100% organic,” “100% all natural,” and some storage instructions.

Product Administration

The capsules are large and harder to swallow. A serving size is 1-2 capsules. There are 750 mg of kratom per capsule.  The instructions are to consume the serving on an empty stomach and not to exceed 4 capsules in a 24 hour period.  I am a very experienced kratom user, with a semi-high tolerance, so I took 4 capsules all at once. I then consumed another 2 capsules after an hour and a half, and another 2 a couple hours after that.

Product Effects

After the first four capsules were consumed (on an empty stomach), I began to notice the onset of the kratom effects about 25 minutes in.  I felt happy, energetic, giddy, and talkative. I had a light itch in my nose and on my arms about 35 minutes in. I was at a peak about an hour in, and as I noticed it dropped at the hour and a half mark, I took the next two capsules.  I carried the euphoric feeling and motivation for another hour or so. As I noticed it drop off, I took two more again and was able to achieve the peak once more.  It was a relatively fun, energetic experience, with plenty of euphoria.  I did have a major headache afterwards, probably a result of not drinking enough water. I also had a huge hangover the next day, which I was not fond of. 

Final Thoughts

King Kratom White Vein Maeng Da was a very pleasant experience in the start, but left me with a bit of a hangover. It is still one of the better, organic and non-extracted kratom products out there. It is a bit expensive, and hard to find, but it was a good buy in the end.  I would probably not rebuy it myself, but I would not discourage someone from buying it if they had it available.  And while I have reviewed better kratom products, which are also easier to obtain (online is always best these days),  I can give this product a 3 Star Fat Sammy Rating with great confidence it is better than a lot of other kratom products.

I have been a long time fan of the Experience brand, having used them for more than a decade on and off.  They are a bit more costly, but usually well worth it.  Going into this with a bias perspective, however, is not how I do things.  Therefore, I will be continuing the review as though it is my first experience with the company (pun intended).  With that said, the packaging is basic for powder or capsule kratom products.  The slogan “Feel it Fast” is printed front and center. The front of the package contains all of the labeling, with the rear being see-through.  The powder looks uncontaminated and the front of the package reminds us that it is a natural product.

Product Administration

The package supplement facts panel states 4 grams (or one “heaping teaspoon”) to be the serving size.  There are 7 serving sizes per package. There are also the regular disclaimers, including not exceeding 4 grams within a 24 hour period.

For my first trial, I took 4 grams all at once, mixed into a glass of fruit juice. I took 8 grams within 6 hours for my second trial (mixed into two glasses of fruit juice spread over time). Both trials were conducted on an empty stomach in the early evening. The plan was to watch a movie marathon with a couple of friends for both experiences. These friends also indulged in this product.

Product Effects

My first trial was a bit more pleasant than my second, probably because I took the 4 grams all at once, rather than spaced out.  Although the peak was still not as strong as to my liking, I was able to attain a reasonable relaxation and focus, with a mild ‘pep to my step.’  My friends reported similar effects, and we were able to plan an entire movie script of our own throughout the development of the first half of the movie (which is about how long the first trial lasted).

The second trial lasted a lot longer, but the kratom was spread out, with 2 glasses of juice (containing 4 grams each glass) lasting about 1.5-2 hours.  The effects themselves were a lot weaker, but still noticeable.  There was a bit of a crash at the end of this trial, probably due to the large quantities consumed.

Final Thoughts

All in all, I was mildly impressed, but a little let down by this product.  Experience Natural Labs usually produces some fairly stronger kratom products.  I will admit, however, the previous experiences I have had with the company were with kratom extracts, not kratom powder.  Still, I expected a bit more kick and a lot more of the kratom “feel good” effect.  Although I would not call Natural Labs out for the count, there are better kratom powders out there. I can still confidently award Natural Labs “Experience Red Maeng Da Powder” a 3 out of 5 Star Fat Sammy Rating.

OPMS stands for “Optimized Plant Mediated Solutions.” Their gold capsules are one of the more expensive extract options. Each capsule contains about 650 mg of mitragyna specisiosa leaf extract. It clearly states it is not for sale to minors. I purchased this product from a local headshop. The clerk explained it was one of the best selling kratom products they currently offer. The package has a lot of details on the back, including that the product is all natural and that the company itself is not responsible for misuse. Basically, all of your typical disclaimers.

Product Administration

The package contains 2 capsules and states that you should “contact your healthcare professional to determine if this product is right for you, and if so, how to use it safely.” In the past, OPMS would place usage directions on the package itself, however, it appears they are now taking the stance that they are unwilling to claim any particular usage instructions. I decided to drink 1 glass of water and consume both pills with a small turkey sandwich. I ended up drinking a second glass of water through the experience itself.

Product Effects

I started to notice the effects of the O.P.M.S. Kratom Extract Gold about 30 minutes after ingesting the pills. It was not nearly as strong as I thought it would be, but it was a pleasant, talkative high that lasted about an hour total. I did get a tad of the jitters about 45 minutes in, which did not last long, and was quashed by laying down for a few moments and drinking some more water. It did also provide some pain relief, however, only for the hour which it was noticeably effective.

Final Thoughts

I have reviewed and tried other OPMS Kratom products and have enjoyed them as well, however, in the grand scheme of the kratom available throughout the entire marketplace, this extract is a bit of a let down compared to some of their other products (and competitive products). Still, it receives a firm 3 out of 5 star Fat Sammy rating, albeit a bit overpriced. I can firmly recommend this, as I do know it works and I do trust the company; and there are many other extract options which are both better and worse. Ultimately, I consider OPMS Kratom Gold extract a semi-overpriced, middle-of-the-line kratom product.

To start, I will say that I have purchased MIT 45 kratom products before, and enjoyed them. This is the latest MIT 45 kratom extract known as their “New Gold standard.” It comes in 2 capsules, within a professional looking packaging. The details on the package are easy to read and it it an attractive product, aesthetically. It is important to note that these capsules contain more than merely kratom extract, but also ginger, turmeric, and white pepper. The back of the box states that the capsules are used for transporting the material only, and that it is not for sale to minors.

Product Administration

In true Fat Sammy style, I took both capsules on an empty stomach (if you buy the ticket, you ride the ride). I had 2 glasses of water, one for each pill. I went to see a movie during the kick on, which was kind of hard to do during this lockdown situation we are in (boo to corona!).

Product Effects

Within about 20 minutes, I began to feel the pills kick on. I felt energized, talkative, and overall happy. This lasted about 30 to 40 minutes, before I started to feel like “maybe I took too much.” However, the unpleasant, nauseating feelings only lasted about 15 minutes, and then I was still feeling pretty good for about an hour. I would say the effects were completely gone about 2 hours after taking it, including the negative effects.

Final Thoughts

Out of all of the kratom providers out there, MIT 45 has always been a professional company. Whether they make a product that is too strong, or too expensive, I at least always feel something. One of the downsides of this particular product is how short lived the experience and effects last. It is also a bummer that it costs so much for such a short experience. I suspect that 1 pill is not enough, whereas 2 pills is definitely too much. Regardless, just as I had rated their last kratom product, I can confidently give their Gold Standard Kratom Extract Pills a 4 star Fat Sammy rating.

I have used several Affinity products before and I have reviewed at least a few. For those of you who do not know, kratom comes in many strains. Each brand either chooses one strain to use in their products, or they release a product line with many different strains. Affinity has chosen to release many different products, featuring a number of strains. This is one of my favorite strains of kratom: White Maeng Da. The packaging is professional, resealable, and the look is futuristic. I like Affinity, but I do find other brands stronger. Still, strength is not everything.

Product Administration

The “Botanical Facts” panel suggests 1 capsule as a serving size, and reiterates there are 20 capsules per package. It also states that they are for measurement purposes only (many products in this industry cannot list that they are for human consumption, and it seems Affinity has taken this stance. I took 4 capsules within 1 hour with a giant glass of water. I then took the rest of the package within a day or so.

Product Effects

After about 45 minutes, I began to feel the onset of the familiar White Maeng Da Kratom high. It’s a little uplifting, mood enhancing, and makes you talkative. Unfortunately, this only lasted a good 20 minutes or so. And I took 4 capsules. Taking more does keep the high around longer, but if you are a Kratom enthusiast and a daily user, this package will probably barely last a full day.

Final Thoughts

I did try this product multiple times. Subsequent tests proved more capsules to be more fun, however, taking too many quickly diminishes the package and its value. I do like Affinity, I do like their kratom, and I do like White Maeng Da, however, I can only give this product 3 stars. This is mostly because there are better Kratom products out there, better legal highs, and more cost-effective options. At the same time, I still want to give this company and this White Maeng Da product two thumbs up. So if you’re on the fence, and it is right in front of you, it is definitely still a good buy!

MIT45 is a brand of kratom products made by South Sea Ventures Kratom.  The MIT 45 “2x” Liquid Kratom is still a kratom extract mixed with a few herbals to make it a liquid shot much like a 5 hour energy shot.  The bottle is a little larger than a 5 hour energy shot, and the effects are obviously far different given MIT stands for Mitragyna Speciosa (Kratom), and not energy drink concentrate.  Although the bottle looks metal, it is just plastic with a silver label.  I purchased this product from a local headshop for $9.99. Although the company that makes it (South Sea Ventures) has many other kratom brands and products, this was the only one from this company at this store.

Product Administration

I took the entire contents of the bottle within 20 minutes before heading off to the movie theater.  I had only eaten a hot dog earlier in the day, roughly several hours before.  I also consumed a few handfuls of popcorn and some soda at the theater itself.

Product Effects

I felt this product within 15 minutes of the first few sips.  Granted, I was on an empty stomach, but due to my normal intake of kratom and high tolerance, I feel most people would probably feel it in even less time.  I do not suggest normal people take the entire bottle at once, but half and wait at least half an hour before taking the rest.  The effects are fairly strong, and the taste was fairly reasonable. I felt upbeat, happy, talkative.  The only complaint would be it was fairly short lived at about 1 hour maximum duration.  Obviously, this is unsustainable on a regular basis, but every once in a while, it can provide a fun time.

Final Thoughts

Ultimately, for the price you can’t go wrong on this one.  The effects were noticeable, substantial, and worth the ten bucks.  I had a much better time at the theater than I normally would watching something like “Little Women.” Although, I wanted to chat a lot and I normally hate people who chat in the movies.  I would suggest this product for even a seasoned or daily kratom user, and I still believe they would have a great time.  It’s harder to find it in person, but a comparative product called “Super K” is available on their website, however, I found MIT 45 far better.  LegalHighShop.com sells the MIT 45 option, however, it has taken me forever to get their products in the mail, sometimes even having issues with my order.  Still, I give this product a 4 star Fat Sammy Review, which is hard to earn!
