General Product Info
I believe 3CHI is a newer company, or at least this is the first time I have seen them in my local headshop. I do see they sell these THC cartridges (as well as CBD products) on their site directly online too, however, I bought a couple of these cartridges locally. The packaging was very professional, the cartridges are pretty universal and have fit my normal vape pen nicely. They are high quality carts and I do not feel they are at risk of leaking. The idea behind THC delta 8 vapes is that there is a strand of THC which has been identified within hemp that can be extracted and remains legal. This “loophole” allows people to smoke, vape, or consume via edibles, actual THC without breaking any cannabis-ban laws.
The front of the package claims the product is still 100 percent hemp-based, with no cutting agents. And terpene-infused. It also suggests the product is USA produced. There is 1 ml of Delta 8 infused THC within the cart, and my package is also labeled as “indica.” Supposedly, the cart contains 95 percent Delta 8 THC and 5 percent (presumably CBD) terpenes. It is manufactured in Indiana. The package warns that the product is meant for persons 21 years or older and could result in a failed drug test or intoxication.
Delta 8 THC is an analogue of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) which supposedly exhibits similar properties to smoking marijuana. It is supposed to possess appetite-stimulating, analgesic, antimetic, anxiolytic, and neuroprotective properties. The fact that Delta 8 THC has only a slight chemical difference from actual THC has given a rise in interest to these kinds of products and led to a new flood in the hemp-based extraction marketplace. While this is only my first Delta 8 THC experience, I remained highly skeptical.
Product Administration
Although 3CHI offers a variety of flavor options, I chose the Strawberry Napalm for my first experience. The directions on the back of the package state to remove the silicone covers, screw the cartridge into the battery. The label then suggests taking only 1 puff and waiting up to 20 minutes before determining if any additional dosing is required. The package warns not to operate heavy machinery while using the product. I use a total of 4 puffs within about 10 minutes, and another 2-4 puffs nearly a half an hour later.
Product Effects
As badly as I wanted to feel something from this, it seems to be 100 percent hype. I did not feel any marijuana effects. I did not experience any pain relief or anxiety relief. I did not feel any happier, or even tired. While this product is a creative way to side skirt marijuana prohibition, it unfortunately does not do anything for me. My throat did get a bit soar after all of my puffs, and I chose not to use the product any longer.
Final Thoughts
The idea behind a legal marijuana high like Delta 8 THC is interesting, and I do wish it provided me some sort of high or intoxication. But I can firmly say that Delta 8 THC does not get you high (at least it did not work for me). I have not smoked actual weed in many months now, so I would have expected to feel something with zero tolerance, however, I unfortunately was left very disappointed. I am impressed still by the packaging, the label instructions, and the company’s professionalism. I find the cartridge very high quality, but that is about it! I would say the product is dramatically overpriced for something which is simply sweet tasting. The aftertaste is kind of nice as well, which contributes to the fact this product receives a 2 Star Fat Sammy review, rather than just one star. Still, I cannot recommend this product, as I do feel it was largely a waste of money and nothing more. It is much cheaper to get a tobacco-free vape juice in strawberry flavor. Like CBD-based products, I have not seen any benefit to vaping or using Delta 8 THC products. I will continue to try a few more of them and post as I do, however, I do not have my hopes up and neither should you!
