OPMS is sone of the stronger standing brands of kratom on the market. They have made a ton of kratom products and I have tried many of them. I have enjoyed other capsules and powders and their liquid extracts. This product is a specific powder strain, Green Vein Thai.  They also label it “silver,” which is their way of more easily identifying product strength for their customers.  I usually review their Gold products, however, this silver powder popped up at my local headshop and it was hard to pass up.  The package states it is all natural and organic, which most of the OPMS products are (if not all of them). It is a nice quality package, thick mil, and resealable. You can see through the leaves which is nice because the powder is so well blended.

Product Administration

A finer kratom powder means it is much more soluble in water or juice, harder to taste, and of far greater surface area. More surface area means better administration.  I tried OPMS Green Vein Thai powder 3 different ways.

  • First, I toss and washed.  This is the toughest for a kratom amateur as it is not exactly pleasant tasting…although I will admit that OPMS silver was much easier than most. I used about a tablespoon within a 20 minute period via toss and wash method (place on palm, toss into the mouth and wash with water or juice).
  • The second method was mixing the powder in juice.  I chose to mix 2 tablespoons into a glass of orange juice. 
  • Finally, last but not least, I brewed a potent kratom tea.  All that is necessary is mixing roughly half an ounce into a pot with 3-4 cups of water, and brewing it on a simmer until the water dissipates to a single cup.  Strain out the kratom, and repeat so you end up with 2 cups of extract.  Then mix this solution with lemonade, tea, or juice (the more mixer you use, the further diluted the mixture and weaker the herbal tea). 

Hint: If you use fresh lemon juice, or toss a few sliced lemons into the pot during the simmering phase, the citrus assists in the extraction process making the tea more potent.

Product Effects

OPMS kratom is almost always the best kratom.  This particular product, OPMS Green Vein Thai powder, is not exactly my favorite, but it is extremely versatile (being able to work into a variety of concoctions or delivery methods).  Here are the results of the three delivery methods:

  • During the toss and wash method, the effectiveness was felt after about 15-20 minutes and lasted almost an hour. The peak was about 30 minutes in, for about ten minutes.  It’s not so bad if you are in a pinch and I like that the bag is resealable, as it makes toss and wash a bit more practical even on the go.
  • The mixing method was also fairly decent, taking effect slightly faster at about 10 minutes in.  The effects lasted a little longer than an hour, with a slightly longer peak.  Although it is harder to gauge as you go, because the kratom is severely diluted.  Still, it is very potent and quite enjoyable. I like that the bag is a big bigger, making measuring for a mixed drink a bit easier.
  • Finally, there is the herbal tea method…which was extremely enjoyable. This method was by far the most potent of the three delivery methods. This allows for enough kratom tea for 1-2 people to enjoy for an entire evening or night.  Sometimes, I brew a tea for a party.  During this trial it was only for myself and no one else.  I begin feeling the kratom tea within 10-15 minutes of drinking it.  As I continue to drink it throughout the evening or night, the buzz remains for most of the night.  Although it is not a strong buzz, it is most certainly worth the money in my opinion and did not create any nausea. It was fairly perfect when brewed as a tea.  I also had a little left over for the next day with this recipe. 

Final Thoughts

OPMS Kratom has been around for a long time and they have nearly never let me down. I have yet to find a product by them which I would award a 5 star rating, but I can give their Green Vein Thai Kratom powder a solid 4 Star Fat Sammy Rating. The kratom was finely ground, it made a very good herbal tea, and it was very easy to toss and wash. I also do my own capsules (load gelatin caps with the powder).  All three methods of delivery were very satisfying. I enjoyed the tea the most, but it is a bit of a task to actually make, so it required a bit of a commitment. Still, very much worthwhile to make and the relaxation, pain relief, and light intoxication effects are without a doubt worth it! I can confidently recommend OPMS Green Vein Thai kratom, as well as any other OPMS product. While this is definitely available in many headshops, it is possible to find it online, though sometimes it seems counterfeits seem to arrive instead, making it difficult to find the real deal. But all-in-all, I have to say OPMS always pulls through and remains a great bet.

OPMS stands for “Optimized Plant Mediated Solutions.” Their gold capsules are one of the more expensive extract options. Each capsule contains about 650 mg of mitragyna specisiosa leaf extract. It clearly states it is not for sale to minors. I purchased this product from a local headshop. The clerk explained it was one of the best selling kratom products they currently offer. The package has a lot of details on the back, including that the product is all natural and that the company itself is not responsible for misuse. Basically, all of your typical disclaimers.

Product Administration

The package contains 2 capsules and states that you should “contact your healthcare professional to determine if this product is right for you, and if so, how to use it safely.” In the past, OPMS would place usage directions on the package itself, however, it appears they are now taking the stance that they are unwilling to claim any particular usage instructions. I decided to drink 1 glass of water and consume both pills with a small turkey sandwich. I ended up drinking a second glass of water through the experience itself.

Product Effects

I started to notice the effects of the O.P.M.S. Kratom Extract Gold about 30 minutes after ingesting the pills. It was not nearly as strong as I thought it would be, but it was a pleasant, talkative high that lasted about an hour total. I did get a tad of the jitters about 45 minutes in, which did not last long, and was quashed by laying down for a few moments and drinking some more water. It did also provide some pain relief, however, only for the hour which it was noticeably effective.

Final Thoughts

I have reviewed and tried other OPMS Kratom products and have enjoyed them as well, however, in the grand scheme of the kratom available throughout the entire marketplace, this extract is a bit of a let down compared to some of their other products (and competitive products). Still, it receives a firm 3 out of 5 star Fat Sammy rating, albeit a bit overpriced. I can firmly recommend this, as I do know it works and I do trust the company; and there are many other extract options which are both better and worse. Ultimately, I consider OPMS Kratom Gold extract a semi-overpriced, middle-of-the-line kratom product.

I have reviewed 3 or 4 other OPMS products. I like most of them. This product is a small, 8.8 ml liquid kratom extract shot.  It is a tiny little bottle, yet somehow most of the text is still legible. The label describes directions as: consulting your physician to ensure it is okay to ingest and not ingesting if you are a minor. The smell resonates strongly with that of a concentrated kratom extract. Although I have purchased from buyopms.com before and shipping is reasonable, I purchased this liquid kratom shot from a local headshop.  The bottle is easy to fit in the pocket, seals tightly, and the label is professional.  I should point out that I paid far more than $16.95 at a retail store, which is the cost on their website.

Product Administration

I take one bottle all at once (it does not specify any serving sizes). Usually I like to have a light meal first. For this liquid shot I had a fish and chips lunch from a local restaurant. The taste is pretty terrible, though the smell is okay. The aftertaste is pretty awful, so I always suggest having a chaser (juice works great).

Product Effects

OPMS Kratom Liquid Extract shot can be felt rather quickly.  I began to feel the effects within 20 minutes, and that was on a moderately full stomach.  The effects are uplifting, as usual with a Kratom high. Talkativeness goes up, pain relief goes up, and I always feel more relaxed overall.  I still have a sense of ambition, which I like. And if I am partying, like I was this time, the party is far more fun! It only lasts for about 40 minutes though, which is a bit of a bummer at such a high cost.

Final Thoughts

OPMS Kratom is always very good, though, I still feel it is overpriced for the short experience. The company has been around for a long time and established a brand that can be trusted. Although it is expensive, at least it works. I do wish the effects would last longer, however, it is one of the better products out there still.  The other products they sell are also fairly decent.

Firstly, I should note that I have reviewed other OPMs Kratom products, including their Silver and Gold capsules (silver I didn’t care for, and gold I felt was pretty good). This is officially the third OPMS product I am reviewing. I purchased this liquid kratom shot from a local head shop.

Thus, the bottle itself is a lot like 5 hour energy drinks, standard for liquid kratom shots. They are 8 ml each. The bottle is herbal in look, although the label easily entirely peels off. The idea is to down the entire bottle all at once, though many people seem to mix it with fruit juice and chug that instead over the course of 10-15 minutes or so.

Product Administration

I took the entire contents of the OPMS Liquid Kratom shot and downed it all at once. It was pretty much handled in less than 10 seconds. It does not taste very good. It kind of tasted like earth, if earth were liquid and sandy and dark (maybe describing it like “dirt” would be better). But hey, we don’t do the kratom for the taste! Everyone knows that! I had eaten a 6 inch tuna sub from subway about 3 hours before doing the shot.

Product Effects

OPMS Liquid Kratom did not take long to feel at all! In less than 10 minutes, I was already beginning to feel the light, peppy, uplifting kratom-like high. I felt like talking to everyone, being friendly, enjoying life. I was, what I would describe as the life of the party. I also noticed that it cured my back pain. I didn’t feel any of it, which is a pretty big deal for me. My back pain is chronic and haunts me every day. To get relief of this nature for about 2 hours, was awesome. The only downside, is that it only lasts 2 hours. And the real peak is about an hour in. It was great though, probably the strongest liquid kratom shot I have ever tried (and although I have only reviewed one or two, that’s really saying something). In fact, it may be one of the strongest kratom products I’ve tried.

Final Thoughts

No crash or side effects, no head ache, and no nausea! OPMS Kratom really nailed it with the OPMS Liquid Kratom Shot. This is great stuff. The only downside is paying $12.95 a bottle at the head shop…it’s a little painful for only 2 hours, at least for the average workin’ man. Still, if it is just a “weekend kind of thing” it isn’t so bad. I love how I don’t feel like I’m killing myself when I ingest OPMS products. They are a clean, reliable vendor that, whether it’s a weak or strong product, can be counted on to be consistently safe. At least, that’s been my experience. They are clean and professional, and are one of the higher quality kratom vendors. If this lasted just a bit longer, and weren’t so expensive per bottle, it would be a 5 star review for sure.

OPMS Kratom Gold is in a (big surprise) gold colored package. Their packages always feel so high quality and they ensure each pill has its own little punch out. I like that a lot, as there are no loose pills that end up floating around. Each capsule has a little botanical leaf like emblem printed on it. I have reviewed OPMS before, a weaker version of this extract, called silver, and it received a 2 star review. Despite not really liking silver, I decided to try the Gold. There are 5 capsules in each package and I purchased my OPMS Kratom Gold from a head shop that is local to me.

Product Administration

One capsule is an adequate dose if there is no kratom tolerance. I do use kratom on a regular semi-regular basis, but not every day…thus my tolerance exists, but it was not as bad as someone who uses kratom daily. Thus, I took one capsule, waited 30 minutes and took a second. I did have a spaghetti dinner right before, and assume that it would be helpful to take the second given how much I managed to shovel in at dinner.

Product Effects

I began to feel OPMS Kratom Gold about 20 minutes in. A light, familiar kratom-style tingle was causing me to itch in my nose and arms. Almost a percocet-like feeling, just not quite as strong. It did begin to ease my chronic pains and back pains. I decided 30 minutes in to take the second because I could tell it wasn’t going to be strong enough to handle my more serious pain and I really wanted to give it the strongest, best chance at getting a good review. I did feel happier, it did provide the mood enhancement that kratom is known for…and I did get the high I like from the kratom….which includes the pain relief and anti-anxiety effects. I did feel more social and I did have a good time hanging out that evening. It ultimately lasted only 3 hours though, and I felt the tolerance was really high, too quickly…the other 3 pills the next day were no where near as good as the first 2.

Final Thoughts

I could tell that two pills would be too much for a novice kratom user, and they may get nauseous, so I do suggest one pill for a newbie. I feel they lasted a little too short for such an expensive extract. But, I must say, when it comes to kratom extracts, OPMS does make legit extracts, even if the cheaper ones are weaker. The OPMS gold is way better than the silver and they provide a noticeable high you can feel. And OPMS always feels like a safe kratom product. I never feel like there are impurities in their Kratom. Before, I suggested trying other vendors, as the Silver was not so strong. The gold, I like the gold and recommend it. It mostly receives a 3 star rating because there are other products out there (kratom and otherwise) which are still better. To be clear: a 3 star rating, is usually considered pretty good from me, and still hard to earn!

OPMs Kratom has been around for a long time and used to be sold in a variety of dietary supplement-style fashions. They were very open about being able to consume the Kratom as a tea or in capsules. The packages now say on the back that the capsules are “used as carriers or containers for the Mitragyna Speciosa, and to help facilitate the handling of raw powder.” It then sends you to the website for another, more thorough disclaimer. OPMs stands for Organically Purified Mitragyna Speciosa.

Product Administration

I took 2 capsules back to back within a couple of minutes, waited 20 minutes, took another 2 capsules…waited another 60 minutes and took another 2 capsules. I took the entire package of 16 capsules within 2 days with a reasonable amount of water.

Product Effects

I barely felt the effects of the Maeng Da Silver blend (which was explained to be the strongest blend they sell), despite consuming 8 capsules within 6 hours on one day, and 8 capsules within 4 hours on the second day. I am a daily Kratom user and enjoy other brands, which will remain nameless in this review as the purpose is not to promote another brand, but to right an objective review of OPMs Kratom. I barely noticed the Kratom at all though, and doubt if I took more I would have noticed it any better. It was even an extract, so it should have been stronger than a straight powder…although straight powders seem easily stronger than this.

Final Thoughts

Their product has been subpar in my opinion in the past (too long ago to write an official review), because of the price. It’s way too expensive for very little effects. This new version of OPMs Kratom (“not for human consumption”) is no different when consumed…still very expensive for little effect. With the experience that comes from using Kratom daily, I can say that this Kratom no where near stacks up to being any where near as strong as the average blend on the market. Don’t let the Maeng Da part fool you. If Kratom is your thing, better to just go with a straight powder from another vendor.
